As the business continues to grow and we look to attract new talent, we’ve introduced a new initiative over the last 12 months to give potential candidates a first-hand insight into Baker Perkins as they consider a potential career with us.
Our Recruitment Days allow people who are actively job hunting, or casually exploring what else is out there, the opportunity to discover who we are, the diversity of our business and the potential roles to join us in.
With the chance to tour the factory, office and Innovation Centre, and talk to our people, we’ve successfully recruited off the back of these days, and have welcomed Phil, Martyn, Shaan and Wyomie in recent times:
Phil Bates saw the event promoted on Facebook and was attracted to come along having seen a vacancy for a Materials Handler on the website. Having previously worked for us, it was an opportunity to re-connect before applying for the role.
Martyn Rushbrook, a Production Engineer, was actively looking for a new challenge. He came along to look at the facilities and the work we do without the pressure of an interview, knowing through a friend who works here that there was a position he was interested in.
Shaan Majeed graduated last year and discovered the Recruitment Day when looking at our Current Vacancies section of the website. As he told us, he knew he wanted to work with us, and coming along to the event allowed him to talk to us and discover what position would best suit him and his skills. And this is how his journey as a Mechanical Engineering Assistant began.
Finally, Wyomie Redford proactively came along having heard about the day through word of mouth. She left her CV with us and when we invited her to interview for a Credit Controller role, she accepted having been impressed with what she saw on the day, and the rest is history.
We hope to hold more events like this in the future, but for now please visit our Careers page to discover the latest opportunities here at Baker Perkins.
