Visitors from powder coating companies in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Far East visited the Baker Perkins factory at Peterborough to see live demonstrations of twin-screw extruders, and view the company’s sophisticated manufacturing facilities for the critical screw parts.
These international showcase events are a regular feature of Baker Perkins’ marketing activity. They give customers and potential customers the opportunity for technical and process discussions, plus detailed inspection of equipment.
The event included an opportunity to examine a full-size production machine ready for dispatch, and a maintenance ‘master class’ on this machine. An MP24 Integra laboratory / small batch production scale extruder was running live powder coating trials, and delegates were also able to appreciate the simplicity of belt change on this machine.
Bruno Fawer from Resotex Associates in Arlington, Texas was the keynote speaker. He explained in detail why matching production equipment capacity to batch sizes is crucial to maximizing profitability in the powder coating industry.
