Tell us a bit about your experiences so far…
I am in the Confectionery department and predominantly work on designs for syrup kitchen systems. I mainly work alongside the Confectionery Product Engineer who has taught me about the syrup cooking process. Cookers involve a lot of pipework for both the product lines and steam/condensate for the heating processes. Steam jackets are pressure vessels so we have to perform calculations to ensure they are of sound design practice and adhere to PD5500 where applicable.
I have also assisted with product trials in the Innovation Centre, helping run the lab machinery to produce samples for customers.
