Process technologists
Baker Perkins supports customers from initial concept development of biscuits, cookies and crackers. Tests using the customer’s own ingredients ensure that equipment will produce both new products, and replicate an existing range with upgraded production facilities.
We help companies new to the industry, and existing customers testing novel product ideas.
Dedicated technology
Our Innovation Centre contains pilot and laboratory scale equipment dedicated to the industry. Experienced process technologists are on hand to offer help on product formulations, process parameters from mixing to cooling, and equipment selection. A wide range of doughs can be assessed to ensure they can be handled successfully.
On-site support
Baker Perkins commissions new equipment, and trains operators. We also ensure that customers can adapt their product range to changing market needs. Technologists work both in our own laboratory and in customers’ factories to adapt existing products and develop new ones. They also modify recipes and processes to take account of changes in ingredients and legislation, and re-train operators.
Process optimization
Baker Perkins services include benchmarking and process optimization of installed equipment. We analyse current operation, and fine-tune machinery to maximize performance and reduce operating costs.
