Our day-to-day tasks here in IT are to support end users via the Helpdesk system, deploying new hardware, managing new starter and leavers, and executing projects to improve operations here at Baker Perkins.
No two days are the same which makes the role very fulfilling and exciting; there is never a dull moment when working in IT! We always have something to do, from system updates and hardware upgrades to support tickets.
Who We Work With
IT reaches and impacts all aspects of the business and therefore we work closely with all departments, implementing their requirements in the most efficient and practical way.
In 2021 we implemented the upgrade to the latest version of our business system which meant working with the entire business to ensure the system still suited every department’s needs and requirements, as well as ensuring all prior functionality still existed in the same way or an improved way.
In 2022 going into 2023 we are implementing the upgrade to the latest version of our PLM/CAD system, working very closely with the Engineering department to ensure this project is a success.
