Product choice from standard balls, curls, rings and chipsticks, to complex, high-value extruded snacks in intriguing shapes, with flavoursome fillings and virtually any colour and flavour.

Direct expanded snack flexibility

These can be face-cut at the die for simple shapes such as balls, curls and rings; a profiled die makes more complex shaped ‘character’ products. The product stream can also be cut to form chipsticks or tubes.

Alternative textures add variety

Cooking a mix that is not homogeneous ensures an uneven texture that mimics cluster snacks; stringy biscuits resemble shredded products but with a crispy, cracker-like bite: Crimping provides pillow snacks with a light, open texture.

Premium high-value snacks

Exclusive Baker Perkins technologies make a variety of high-value snacks. Coated croutons can be sold as premium products with a hard texture, or as conventional croutons. Cracker type snacks cut from a thin sheet of extruded dough before baking and flavouring are a low-fat alternative to conventional frying; profiled snacks can be rippled, curved or have V-shaped channels.
