Depositing gummy treats
Depositing pet treat chews is an addition to our process portfolio, and the newest concept is the addition of CBD to functional gummies. The medicinal benefits claimed for CBD which include alleviating symptoms of muscle and joint stiffness, plus improved sleep and relaxation, are all relevant in the pet food sector.
Baker Perkins' ServoForm™ Mini, a flexible starch-free depositing system for small batch production, is widely used in the confectionery industry for gummies, and ideal for producing high-quality chewy gummies for pets – incorporating all kinds of dietary supplements.

Extrusion for new ideas
Baker Perkins' twin-screw cooker extruders produce an extensive range of pet treats. Options include direct expanded pieces with a cookie-or cracker-like texture, produced in a variety of sizes on a standard extrusion line. Adding a co-extrusion system creates the ability to produce added-value center-filled treats. These consist of cream or paste, in an almost unlimited variety of colors and flavors, surrounded by an outer shell.
