Job Title: Sales Account Manager - Confectionery, Cereal & Food Extrusion

Location: Peterborough based, but requires regular travel to customer base

Position this role reports to: Sales Team Manager

Job Purpose:

  • To identify opportunities and negotiate sales for the sector product range and to support the development of the business strategy

Qualifications:

  • An engineering or technical based qualification

The Job (Main Duties):

  •  You will establish and develop sustainable customer relationships at all organisational levels in a professional manner
  • You will maintain regular direct contact with our customer base
  • Ensure awareness of our products and services with existing customers and plan out and then execute action plans to develop new customers
  • Support the preparation of proposals, negotiate and secure orders and contracts that are profitable, commercially secure and technically sound
  • Identify Customer Services’ business opportunities with existing and new cutomers
  • Identify and report market requirements to the business to support the sector growth strategy (e.g. current confectionery growth plan, extruded TVP)
  • Prepare and maintain sales reports, forecasts and contact information on a regular basis
  • To be aware of and follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures, in respect of self and others

Candidate Profile (Experience, Skills and Knowledge):

  •  Experience in a sales environment with commercial acumen
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to be calm under pressure to negotiate contracts
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Ability to plan and think strategically
  • Ability to work in a team environment utilising internal skills and resources across the business where appropriate to influence customers towards Baker Perkins offering
  • Ability to communicate and liaise appropriately, given some accounts are globally based, i.e. have sister operations outside the nominated territory
  • Willingness and ability to spend time abroad
  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of the Baker Perkins product range, process advantages and market place

Travel Activity:

  • Travelling for up to 40% of the time
