Job Title: Buyer Indirect Procurement

Location: Flexible EMEA: , Prague, Poynton, Peterborough

Position this role reports to: Head of Procurement

Job Purpose:

  • Manages and directs procurement & supply chain activities within indirect procurement of Schenck Process Group EMEA; provides strategic focus and team leadership to cross functional team activity; collaborates with other Business Managers and Category Managers to achieve maximum value from the supply chain; develops value adding projects, supply chain plans and strategic sourcing plans for their allocated categories and drives their execution consistent with SP’s overall business strategies, sourcing goals, and vision and values. Works in partnership with the business partners  to drive lower cost sourcing through improved NPI interaction. Coordinates and facilitates supplier performance improvement for the key suppliers in their category including leading quarterly reviews.


  • Minimum 8 years job experience in Indirect Procurement

The Job (Main Duties):

  • Supports Head of Procurement in achieving business goals through best practice sourcing and supply chain processes and methodologies
  • Plans category sourcing activities
  • Drives continuous improvement of sourcing as it relates to their categories in the business as a whole
  • Coordinates with other Business Managers to implement strategies consistently
  • Works with all functions within the business to ensure suppliers provide maximum value, utilising a cross-functional team approach to category and supplier management
  • Financial projections – develop, update report as required
  • Create and execute indirect category roadmap with stakeholder buy in for EMEA
  • Tracks and reports on indirect spend savings quarterly to Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations EMEA
  • Regular interaction with SVP of IT and CFO for indirect spend activities for SPG holding.

Accountable for and supports category management with expert advice on:

  • Supplier selection for categories assigned
  • Development and governance of cross functional team meetings and communication
  • Implementation of procurement processes within the businesses
  • Supplier quality, development, relationships and performance as appropriate
  • Materials and/or services spend and planning within the business
  • Cost improvement and special projects within the business related to the appropriate categories
  • Contracting, contract management, and risk assessment / mitigation
  • Managing relationships with key suppliers to deliver performance improvement and value enhancement

Candidate Profile (Experience, Skills and Knowledge):

  • Minimum 8 years job experience in Indirect Procurement
  • Complete understanding of procurement policies and procedures
  • Good project management and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of commercial aspects of indirect categories as needed
  • Ability to work effectively and productively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence diverse group of people to achieve mutually beneficial solutions
  • Resolve conflicts tactfully and effectively
  • Adept communicator (verbal, written)
  • Knowledge of  business environment and requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work and build supplier relationships
  • Results oriented
  • Proactive and dynamic, drive sense of urgency

  • Ability to create powerpoint presentations and present to C-suite executives
