Job Title:
HR Officer
Job Purpose:
To support the Director of HR and assist the Senior HR Officer in a wide range of HR activities.
Main Duties
To support the Director of HR and assist the Senior HR Officer in:
- Providing day-to-day support to line management and employees in the implementation of the established HRM policies and practices including disciplinary, grievance and performance management
- Provide pragmatic and risk assessed advice to line managers when supporting them with employee relations cases
- Assisting line management in training needs analysis through performance appraisal and in organising suitable training activities
- Undertaking recruitment and resourcing activities, internal and external, up to but not including senior management appointments
- Attending Health & Safety meetings as necessary and ensuring timely actions are maintained and assisting with producing Health & Safety documentation
- To assist in the organisation of occupational health activities
- Assisting with the regular consultation processes with the trade unions and Employee Consultation Group
- Providing accurate data on absence management and other HR reports to management
- Assisting with the HR department’s administration tasks in all aspects of the employees lifecycle as required
Profile
Essential
- Previous broad HR generalist experience
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service
- High level of attention to detail - able to maintain accuracy
- Flexibility and positive “can do” attitude – prepared to do a bit of everything!
- Ability to multitask and work within a busy and varied HR environment
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Familiar with computerised T&A and HR systems - experience of Workday is desirable, but not essential
- A proven background in dealing with employee relations within a unionised manufacturing environment
- Can demonstrate an awareness and proactive approach to supporting the management of health and safety
- Be aware of and demonstrate the company values and behaviours
Desirable
- CIPD qualified
